Is there anyway to auto-mount a pen drive, like a CD? I know there is a way to auto-mount a pen drive at boot, but I don't really want to have to have my pen drive in at boot, then have to unmount it in a terminal. I just want to be able to insert my pen drive, and then it mount, have an icon on the desktop for it, then I can right click the drive icon, and unmount...basiclly have /dev/sda1 act like /dev/cdrom.
Hi,
Im not sure if I did anything to change a standard install of FC2 (im pretty much a newbie) but it auto mounts a flash drive (a.k.a pen drive??) so maybe the upgrade to FC3 will do the same. Just plug it in and it recognises it and shows an icon on the desktop. Also the machine it is installed on is quite old P111 450 so its not hardware based, in case that makes a difference.
it may not be possible unless you choose to make an entry into /etc/fstab ...even then, I cant guarantee .....
Or, you can probably launch two different icons in the launcher panel, one for loading and the other for unloading the pendrive, in the launcher panel. Give suitable commands. I think this will give you a better, achievable solution.
Sorry if there is no launcher kind stuff in Fedora, because I am into Redhat ...!!
