Archive files month wise

I have some files reside in some directory. File format is like "31_Aug_09_*".

I want to move files to a directory named by month and year. and tarring them. This will be happened every after 2-3 months.

Can anyone give me hints about how can i do this using shell script.

Have you already seen the Advanced Bash Scripting Guide? That's probably a good place to start for being able to do what you want to do.
