Another X windows startup problem

Another X startup problem....

We've been running version 8.2 of Mandrake without any problems for several months now. Late last week, the machine rebooted itself. Now X-Windows won't start up. The error that it is printing to the screen is: 'INIT: Id "a" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes'. There was a power spike a week ago, but I'm not sure that is the problem. Also, I see something in the log about the Mouse driver. The mouse works fine.

Thanks for any help! The error log follows.... I removed some of the address range info to get it small enough to post here.

I probably should have posted the configuration file (XF86Config-4.log). Here it is... Where should the Fonts be? I see the line in the conf file below, but I don't know what directory it should be in....

Thanks again!

FontPath "unix/:-1" <--- looks like it's trying to use a path that doesn't exist?

Here's what I have (basically a list of all the font directories in my X11/fonts directory):

Hi,

I just thought I would share the solution to this problem. We had been hacked into. We installed a current version of Suse on the machine and it has been running fine since. I'm posting this just in case someone else has a similar problem.

Thanks!

Jim
