Hello,
I'm running RHEL 4.0 and my wm is Gnomre. I'm able to mount windows shared drives like this:
mount -t smbfs -o username=MYDOMAIN\\myusername //SomeWindowsBox/shareddir /home/myid/mnt/SomeWindowsBox
After a bit it queries me for my password and I'm all set. I'm trying to figure out how to make this happen automatically when I boot (preferably) without storing my network password in clear text. Ideally, after I boot, a window will pop up asking me to authenticate (or cancel if I happen not to be on the network containing the shares) and then the drives will be mounted automatically. I'm sure there is a way to do this but I can't seem to find it and I'm really, really, tired of issuing that command over and over again
Any thoughts?
