alsa doesn't detect nvidia mcp51 soundcard ??

I am attempting to get alsa running on my laptop with an nVidia MCP51 soundcard.
ALSA site states that I should use intel8x0 driver.
I've installed alsa-utils, alsa-lib, etc..
lsmod shows :
snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,ac97_bus,snd_pcm,snd_timer, snd, snd_page_alloc, and soundcore as loaded.

cat /proc/asound/cards shows:
-- no soundcards --

lspci show the nVidia MCP51 as expected

What am I missing ?

The correct module is snd-hda-intel

You are absolutely right. I guess I was one driver off in the list.

Btw, nVidia has a good summary page about the modules to use with the nForce chipset:
