It's very likely that Linux mounted the disk read-only.
You can umount it (the command is "umount", not "unmount") and mount it read-write as I showed above.
It isn't clear what you have done and what your problem is now. You were told to turn off fast startup (or fastboot) on windows and apparently did. Are you now able to access windows? Is the read-only being seen from booting windows or from trying to access the windows system files from Ubuntu? I'd be very hesitant to modify windows system files from another OS such as Linux?
