Exclamation WineX CVS download/install guide?

apparently for some odd reason i can not log in into the winex cvs repository on sourceforge... it does not allow anonymous users, even though this is posted right on there:
cvs -dserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/winex login
they say you dont need a password... apparently you do.
i suspect that the sourceforge winex cvs repository is long abandoned and there is one on transgaming website, but their repository is even messier than my room lol.
can someone point me to a neat little tarball with all the stuff in it? i know that redistribution of their source is prohibited, which we all agreed on, but well... is there an official source package?
dont tell me to buy it/subscribe. there are many things i would be doing differently if i could just go out and buy the easy way through things.
well, at least can someone give me (and a few hundred other people who are trying to do this) a list of things to get and where to get them. and possibly some quick hints on how to install/compile it (if there are some generally necessary options and such... and non-standard procedures if any)...
please?

http://winecvs.linux-gamers.net/index.php/Main_Page go here and follow the instructions... it's a script to download either straight Wine or WineX(Cedega's CVS). It's not too difficult just need a basic basic introduction into the command line interface. (cd, where your /home/you/ is located and how to get there. Thats really about it).

what exactly is the difference between cedega and winex?
i found a cvswinex install script somewhere... it sorta worked. it compiled successfully but cvswinex wont even get as far as i would normally get with regular wine. not sure whats wrong with it but it just crashes and freezes.
i do have plenty of command line experience, as for the guide i mostly meant any particular configuration tweaks we should know about to get most out of it.
i still dont know how to configure video and sound for it.
but first i want to know what the difference might be between CVS WineX and CVS Cedega. i saw both on transgaming CVS repository and that further confuses me.

I went on the website and I did not see any cedega cvs, but winex cvs, but they are the same thing. I don't know really why they haven't changed the name of the CVS.(I'm pretty sure I have, I just don't remember)

http://cvs.transgaming.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/winex/

if you look on the very bottom there is a branch menu. both cedega and winex in there. i guess as more users bought the product they dont want people thinking that wine can still do stuff.

so far i must say i had much more success with regular wine. i got Winamp 5.21 full to play mp3s and video, AVS with 3d visualizations work as well at very good framerates. im quite pleased.

anyway ill give a shot to the installation script you provided and see if i get better results.
