winex and radeon9800

I have a radeon 9800p, and I want to play farcry in linux, so naturally wineX is my only real option. I have heard that winex works best with Nvidia cards, but I was wondering how bad it really is on ATI's.

basically I'm aksing if I can play Farcry w/ wineX and a radeon9800-pro, or will the performance hit be too bad?

I ask cause I'd rather not pay $ and find out that it doesnt work well enough.

Try different ATI drivers. I find 3.2.5 best, Max Payne 2 runs really well under WineX on them - I'm using a 9600XT.

Give it a go, Cedega (WineX) only costs 15$
