THPS2 via wine on ubuntu 9.10

Hi,
I'm trying to play Tony Hawks PS 2 on Ubuntu. Installed wine, put in the thps2 CD, clicked on the setup.exe and installed it. It shows on the Wine menu; but when I click it nothing happens. So I went to c:/ drive in wine and started it from there-and everything works: I set up my keys, display, sound; but when I want to play the game it throws me back to desktop (with no error log or warning).

Any ideas? In winehq, they ranked the game gold and even platinum.

Are you starting it from the terminal, or just clicking on the EXE? You need to start it from the terminal to see any error messages from WINE.

If it is crashing as soon as the game starts to render (rather than in the menus), my guess would be it is a GPU issue. Check through the WINE configuration and make sure you have the audio and video hardware configured properly. Are you able to run any other 3D software under WINE? Do you have the proper video drivers installed under Ubuntu?
