I'd like to start an open Source game project.
As I'm not very at C and I'm not much better with c++.
At first it won't be much.
My thought is to start with simple IF games.
Move on to harder IF games.
Then simple graphical games(Svga-lib?,SDL?,X windows?,OpenGL?)
Then harder graphic games.
Then finally multiplayer games.
Anyone who would like to help please tell me.
If I get enough people answering say .. 5 to 10.
Then I'll start laying out my project plan.
And we can start programming.
Thanks in advance for all those who are going to help.

dont you think there is something like that cultivating in a thought on linux and gaming post? still, im interested, but im not saying yes YET. i have alot of things on my plate right now.
Yahh.. theres probably lots of people starting open Source game projects.
But I want to start my own.
I'm working really hard to get things going.
Since I'm only 14 i have 5 to 6 years till i have to have enough money to support myself.
By then I'll know enough to make games for a living.
And yes I know what its like to have to many things on my plate.
I have to : Write a program for my dad, work on the open source project, learn php,
write a function javaScript for dad, write a php front-end for a database, design my websight, work on writing my new book and lots of other stuff.
well, i want to join your project.
I'm 15 and also keen on programming, and it's nice to meet young ppl with these interests. I don't know c / c++, but i have some tutorials and quite good manuals. I know Pascal, Basic, Visual Basic (we all hate Basic but knowledge does not hurt...), Html, a bit of PHP, and now I'm triying Delphi.
I've got a webpage (the one in my signature).
The only thing i need is to convince dad to wire my house and connect my p2 300 computer to the net. (The only computer with internet is the k7 700 for family use... in which i installed linux too, despite the fact that my father thinks that opensource will never go anywere...)
We'll need some story writers and game designers.
The game designers won't have a hard job as of yet though.
I'm still working on text games.
I'm moving right along to svga-lib though.
I should be ready to make simple svga-lib games soon.
I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I know a lot of people in the gaming community, if you need skinners and such, I can probably find them for you. As long as it's a serious project. Like a lot of you guys, I have a rep to uphold.
well, i dont have much time 4 programming (girls, vodka, role games... many things to do, ya know). But i'll try to learn as much as i can and help as much as i can. If u want i can design a web page or some graffics, or a strory or something. But waht i'd like to do the most is to code, but i've got a lot to learn...
u can guide me a bit in my c++ xpereance
Sounds good ssobeht I'll help you with your C++ as best as possible( though I want to go with C) as I'm still learning.
I'll send you a sketch of what I'd like the web page to look like ( it's just an idea) as soon as I get it finished.
I'm just swamped with work here .
I rarely get a chance to start working and I have to answer an email.
Argghhh....
Oh well it'll be worth it in the long run.
