MAME questions


Hey everyone, I have laptop which I am trying to turn into a Arcade (controllers, everything) is there a Mame(gmame, any flavor) that can run from console? O will I definetly need a windows manager running?

AdvanceMAME didn't need X, IIRC.

I'm also aware that MAME can be built to render with SVGALib, which doesn't need and won't work in X.
