I have like 2000 roms for it and don’t have the first clue how to modify these files so it will compile correctly. The instructions included arent very clear. All input appreciated and I would be happy to share. Thank you!
I havent had any luck using the win version of MAME32 with wine, I hate wine all it does is make me wine!
=)
jw...
I'm assuming you want to do this because the newer Xmames refuse to run the old roms, correct?
I started with XMame when it already was at 0.76something - do you have a specific problem getting it compiled though? Does it stop somewhere / crash during the compile?
Yes I have many ROM files that will only play in that version time frame.
As for compiling you would really have to go download that file and look at it. It appears to be designed for all *nix and contains c configurations scripts that require modification in order to compile for require version/distro. Yes it crashes! Yes it stops! I have tried several modification that are stated in the contained readme I guess the problem is lack of understanding and unfortunately as much as I want this to work I don't quite have the time to go read a C programing book.
Then again maybe I am just misunderstanding the whole process...
I am in the same boat as you, and still haven't had much time to dedicate to this. I was going to try to get the old mame32 to work with wine as well.. Any luck?
