http://happypenguin.org/ has a brilliant repository of Open Source games. Think Freshmeat, with comments and tuned for games. However you will find that you will not find as large a selection of games on Linux.

My advice, keep gaming to games consoles. The right tool for the right job. Just because you can play games on a PC, doesn't mean you should.
The Playstation 2 keeps me enjubilated.
