Counter-Strike native client

Does anyone know if the original GoldSrc-based Counter-Strike client (not the new one, the original one) has been ported to Linux?

It certainly has not. A cursory search would have told you that. Thank you for coming, bye bye for now

*ahem*

I performed several 'cursory' searches, as well as several deep ones, in an attempt to discover whether or not the GoldSrc Counter-Strike client was available. All I was able to find was the Counter-Strike server binaries, which is why I decided to ask outright.

There's none and if it depends of Valve, there will never be one. Valve loves Windows and DirectX and ATI cards. They hate Linux, OpenSource, OpenGL and nVidia cards. I just wish they could make that public though

Since they know Cedega works fine with HL2, they make sure that every update they make (fixing nothing, mind you, HL2 still has stuttering problems in my machine, whereas Doom 3 and Quake 4 flies) brakes Cedega...

Did I mention I get nearly everyday an e-mail from steampowered sending me a new password to restart my account? (it's because somebody is actually trying to get my serial number...).

Sorry, I had to open up. But I hope I answered your question either way: No binaries available. Can run with Cedega until they update the game...
