Bf1942

Has anybody played this on any Linux Distro?

I used WineX to install the game and the exp pack "Road to Rome". Then I started a single player game to see how it looked and it was horrid. The graphics where all messed up and it was slow as hell.

The other problem is I can't seem to patch it to the latest version. Which means I wouldn't be able to pay it online.

So are there any tips out there for this game?

I'm running Mandrake 9.1 in KDE with Point2Play installed with the latest WineX release.

Update.

WineX has a new version out. 3.2. I was able to install BF1942 and Desert Combat without a hitch and it runs great. I'm using Point2Play with Winex 3.2 on Mandrake 9.2.

DC was kind of a pain. The installer didn't want to work, so I copied my dir from my WinXP dir and it worked fine. Check they're site to see if there's another way to do it.

Hi guys, noob here.

I think I'm just using winex3 on Mandrake 9.2.

I've got BF1942 running, but I can't join any online games. In fact, all I CAN do is play a single player campagin.

Any idea how to get the online capabilities working as I'm tired of listening to my brother rag me for switching to Linux

I get stuck in a loop where it asks me to insert a Battlefield CD, but the Cd is already in the drive.

Are you patched to the latest release of BF1942? Are you using the latest version of WineX?

I had that issue on an older version of WineX, but since 3.2 and the latest BF patch, I'm not having any issues.

I'm using the latest version of Wine (3.2) and I've upgraded to Desert Combat.5L.

but I'm still having problems. If I do anything other than play a campagin it asks me to insert the proper CD, I click OK, and nothing happens, repeat process until I get tired of trying

I can't even select any other games. No Desert combat and no Road to Rome...same error, it gives me the insert correct CD "loop"

Right.....upgraded to latest Desert Combat (.6) and installed the 1.5 nocd crack.

BF1942 works online now, but Desert Combat crashes 9 out of 10 times I try to play it online.
