Savage is brilliant. Since until recently I was totally addicted, and had to wean myself off it like a junkie.

Well worth a purchase.

Hey why don't you make your "dri" for your graphics card?
I have a s3prosavage ddr and you know that this is the worst graphics card in the world..but using dri I get 42 fps for tuxracer and ~50fps for quake 3!
Go for it! you can!

For doom, doom2, hexen, and heretic, and strife use Vavoom! Don't listen to any body about how prboom is the best... ppuuuhh....

www.vavoom-engine.com

Also, you may want to try out heretic 2, it has native binaries for linux from Loki.

Rune by HumanHead software is also REALLY good.

Quake* rocks.
Unreal* rocks.
Doom* rocks.
Heretic* rocks.
Hexen 1 rocks.
Savage is cool.

Americas army, runs fine on Linux, but I am not an army-type fan.

I also think Surrious Sam 2 runs on Linux, not sure though.

Check out: www.happypenguin.org

Good luck!

Does Savage have a single player mode??? Or is it Multiplayer only???

Also, is it a pay to play game, or after you buy the game is online play free???

Savage has a singleplayer mode, and you pay only once for the game itself, no monthly fees (I hate those!).

I picked up Savage used for like $13.00...

The question is;
Does the fact that this is a used game mean anything with regards to the CD-Key??? In other words, would my CD Key be seen as invalid because I have a used copy, if the prior owner installed it and ran in on the internet???

Also, is there an easier, single-file way to get updated to version 2.00e??? I am having trouble locating the downloads for the Linux version. Most of the files are self-extracting zip files for Windoze.
