PPPoE problem

Hi folks,

LFS 6.1
FC3 Host

On running
# adsl-connect
following message displayed;
.....
Couldn't set tty to ppp discipline. Invalid argument
pppoe read (asyncReadTromPPP): Session 4691 : Input/Output error
........

Whether I need to recompile the kernel with support for ppp_async, pppoe, and pppox???

If YES, what component/package I need to install in addition to;
Linux-Libc-Headers-2.6.11.2
Linux-2.6.11.12
which are now running on LFS 6.1

TIA

B.R.

i have no access to a pppoe connection or dsl connection to know how to fix this so as far as your kernel question is concerned, you probably need the following:

Device Drivers -> Networking Support -> PPP (point-to-point protocol) support
*(build in or module all PPP options here)
*(Make sure you at least have PPP over ETHERNET, despite the fact that this one says EXPERIMENTAL)

good luck.

Tks for your advice.

I have the problem fixed already. Just recompiled the kernel similar to your advice. Tks again.
