That's a kernel dump.

Chances are you built the kernel incorrectly which caused a problem.

A good tip you should follow is to recycle an existing kernel config such as the Slackware -Current kernel, and run make oldconfig again it or make olddefconfig.

Kernel Panic says that can't mount root fs. Have you compiled VMWare Bus drivers to kernel?

Sorry got your setup confused.
So LFS is on its own partition "sda3".
Get a copy of a distro "Debain,Slack what ever!" and run it as a live cd/usb.
Then mount your LFS system (sda1) and chroot into it, Rebuild the kernel

No live cd can be run from the cd they dont install anything, put cd in and boot from cd/dvd drive follow on screen to run as LIVE CD not install,
That will run the OS entirely from cd
