Is it possible to build a LFS system on a VPS?

I have been trying building LFS on my host system and have messed up a lot of things. So just out of curiosity, is it possible to build LFS on a separate VPS, a virtual instance say on AWS EC2, or a Digital Ocean Droplet?

I didn't mean errors, was curious about keeping my system undisturbed and doing all the stuff on a VPS.

Yeah, I will make sure that I run version-check before starting again and try Debian as a host. Also, you sure about that we can build LFS on VMs?
I doubt that because we are supposed to format and mount a partition. In addition, the later part involves booting it also, so doubt if LFS can be built on a VM.
