I've built LFS using the CVS 2003-10-02 instructions, everything seems to run fine. Having installed freetype, fontconfig, expat and libpng, I get a small problem building X.
Using XFree86-4.3.0.1, X itself builds ok and runs, but I can't build the drm modules - build aborts with "kernel modules must be configured". The kernel is modular, and module handling seems to work fine.
Building the drm modules worked before using 2003-09-11 for the base system, so I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem or (perhaps more likely) I've made a mistake building LFS. Let me know if you've had this problem, and in the meantime I will be rebuilding LFS (again) to determine if it was me all along
