I need to uninstall qt-x11-free-3.3.8b

I installed the qt program into the Qt recommended /opt path. However, when I go to install aRts (I am installing kde in the /usr path), it complains that it can't find qt in the /usr path. I have verified that qt-x11-free-3.3.8b is install in /opt path. I have tried a make uninstall and it will not take the command. What are my other options? The only one I can think fo now is install kde in the /opt path and I really do not want to do that.

When you configure aRts, you need to tell it where to find the QT libraries. I think the configure switch is --with-qt-libraries=${QTDIR}/lib, but you can check ./configure --help to be sure. If make uninstall is an options for a package, it only works if you don't delete or clean the source tree after installing.

Using the switch -with-qt-dir=/opt/qt-3.3.8b and also the switch for the include files did the trick
