Chromium is one of the most used browsers but it is nit in the latest blfs books. Any reason for that?
To build and install latest chromium on LFS someone has to follow google guidelines for compiling chromium or are there any LFS specific guidelines?
Can older blfs book instructions for older versions of chromium be followed for newer versions except for patches which obviously can not be applied to newer versions?
This script is designed to work with my package manager but you can still manually use the relevent commands, built this a couple of weeks ago and its fine with lfs 9.0
Are the dependencies the same? Can v 80 be installed without the patch mentioned in the book?
Can v 80 be installed following the proceedure for v 64 (except the patch?)
As for build and install start with the latest build instructions you can find eg from arch or blfs, and then suck it and see, if a patch fails, it may be because its already been incorporated upstream or the versions are too far apart.
The latest version may not always be the best, or of course you can try another browser, personally I use falkon, its' a lot less resource hungry than chromium.
