Question Switching to Chromium re the Chrome 32 bit fiasco, Chromium freezes all the time

Hello
Regarding the decision by Google to pull support on 32 bit updates on Chrome, I downloaded and installed the Chromium package from the relevant repository. Sadly, it seems to be freezing a lot, I am sure that I have the appropriate flash plugin but for now, I am surfing on my Mint box using Firefox without a problem. I also have another box running Fedora 23, with Chromium running without a problem. Are any other Mint users (I'm running Mint 17.3), having this problem ?

Just asking

There is a chromium spin-off called SRWare Iron that you can try.

why do you think this will help with the problem described?
it might be a graphics issue, in which case most chromium spinoffs (yes, there's dozens) would behave the same.

Clived, try to run chromium from a terminal, and when the freeze happens, see if you get some meaningful output into the terminal.
if that doesn't do anything, i guess we might take a look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log .

Chromium

Thanks guys!

I found a workaround, apparently Chrome and Chromium have this issue on an on and off happening. I found out that If I enable Hardware Acceleration in my Chromium browser this will resolve the issue and it did Here is the link that described the process: http://www.webupd8.org/2014/01/enabl...in-chrome.html

I appreciate your comments, guys
