Cannot Enter chroot /usr/bin/env directory not found

I about to compile the kernel for lfs in book 5.0. I exited out of chroot last night and went to log back in using the new chroot commands given bout 2 pages before the compile kernel area. I logged out before and logged back in with them but this time it is giving me a error saying cannot change root directory to /usr/bin/env - not a directory. Here is the command Im using to log in as it is written in the book.

Book:
Code:
  chroot $LFS /usr/bin/env -i \
       HOME=/root TERM=$TERM PS1='\u:\w\$ ' \
       PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin \
       /bin/bash --login
What im typing in the terminal after su to root:
chroot $LFS /usr/bin/env -i HOME=/root TERM=$TERM PS1='\u:\w\$ ' PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin /bin/bash --login

I checked /usr/bin directory and env is in there.

Is there another way to log in so that I can finish the install or am I doing something wrong?

is your $PATH set properly??
as ROOT type: echo $LFS
what does it say??
you may have to re-set the $PATH
export LFS=/mnt/lfs
or whatever the PATH to the lfs directory is...........
