BLFS 11.3 x86_64: libksba 1.6.3 makes a 8.14 library

As noted previously in other threads, I'm slowly working on my BLFS 11.3 system, using the Slackbuild package tools as the package manager but otherwise following the book.

I compiled the libksba 1.6.3 package. When I looked at results, I saw something unexpected: a file called /usr/lib/libksba.so.8.14. Nowhere in my slackbuild was there any mention of 8.14, so that's not my doing. The package (1.6.3, remember?) is installed and the log of the test phase shows no failures. It's probably fine but I just am curious as to what happened.

Is this normal to the package? In other words, has this odd version discrepancy happened to anyone else?

Thank you.

The package version has very little to do with the library version, if you look in src/.libs you will find the library libksba.so.8.14.3.
This sort of numbering is not uncommon.
