6.10 re-adjusting the toolchain - correct startfiles

I am upto chapter 6.10 re-adjusting the toolchain, and I am checking for the correct startfiles using the command
grep -o '/usr/lib.*/crt[1in].*succeeded' dummy.log

according the the instructions http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/...adjusting.html
but nothing is returned...

here is a list of the command i typed:
root:/sources/glibc-build# echo 'main(){}' > dummy.c
root:/sources/glibc-build# cc dummy.c -v -wl,--verbose &> dummy.log
root:/sources/glibc-build# readelf -l a.out | grep ': /lib'
[Requesting program interpreter: /lib/ld-linux.so.2]
root:/sources/glibc-build# grep -o '/usr/lib.*/crt[1in].*succeeded' dummy.log
root:/sources/glibc-build#

Thanks, Chris

So what's the contents of 'dummy.log'? Is "cc" invoking the compiler that you built?

Well, the log shows you did something wrong:

Quote:
cc: unrecognized option '-wl,--verbose'
Looking back at the instructions, that's supposed to be -Wl,--verbose - not -wl,--verbose

That would explain why 'dummy.log' is so short and that the 'grep' failed.
