Setting nfs wsize to multiples of 1024 on RHAS 2.1
Hello Gurus,
I've been trying to set "wsize" on the NFS client (RHAS 2.1) to 27KB (27648 B), but in vain. For some reason this value is always rounded to 16KB when I check (cat /proc/mounts).
I've suspected the "mount" command to be responsible for this, so I tried re-compiling "nfsmount.c" after setting wsize default value to 27KB, but still same problem. I get 16K when checking /proc/mounts
I've done searches on GOOGLE and I'm quite sure that this value is possible since I found alot of results mentioning using a multiple of 1024 for the "wsize" in NFS. It does not have to be a power of 2 (2K, 4K, 8K, 16K, 32K)
I don't know what is causing "wsize" to be rounded to a power of 2 value.
I would really appreciate if any one can help me set "wsize" to a multiple of 1024. I've been using IOZone to test NFS performance and a record size of 27K is the optimum value for my environment.
My NFS server is a NetAPP filer.
Thanks for the help.
