firmware questions

Hello,

I am brand new to Linux because of my job and I need to update the firmware on an IBM xSeries450.It currently has SAL 3.00 and EFI 1.10 on it. I downloaded
the instructions from IBM site and where I get stuck is where it says to go to the EFI shell, ok I got there. Then it tells me to change to the working directory to where I have the flash utility and firmware? I have the files on a cd from the same ibm site but I can't figure out how to get the thing to read the cdrom? has anybody here done this before?

thanks for any help....
