Downloading A file from Pysical Windows HDD to Redhat Enterprise Linux VM

Hello,
So I am having a bit of trouble trying to remember how to move a physical from my laptop to a VM Workstation which has a Redhat Enterprise Linux virual machine on it. Its for school as I am a first year Networking Admin, I cant remember the syntax for moving a file from my main drive to the virtual machine drive and my instructor hasnt responded to my email, sooo i'm asking here. If anyone could help with that, that would be awesome.

you mean a VM client ? Host to client move file into the client so it can get it? share drive/directory.
