using menuconfig for custom configuration

hi,
how can i pull out the scripts and related files from kernel so that i can use it for my project.

anybody tried menuconfig other than in kernel ?

any other tools to suggest to have the configurations done in my case. i would like it to be similar to menuconfig.

If you mean the program than makes the menuconfig user interface, then yes, it can be used for other purposes. It is presently being used by the crosstool-ng package, and the buildroot package. It should be easy enough to decpiher from the Makefile what the program is, and what parts it requires to use it.
