Linux console hangs when doing firmware upgrade for USB modem

Hi,

I am running the linux on ARM process in our custom board having TI DM8148 processor. We do have an USB modem connected to the USB pins of the DM8148 processor. As part of the software integration, we have to do firmware upgrade for the USB modem.

As part of the modem firmware update, modem goes into 'boot and hold' state, after which the controls to the console is lost. Logged into the board using a minicom console, a telnet session. The only way to regain the control is to reboot the board.

Could someone please help me in fixing this.
