I was looking at a number of different Linux OS systems and I came across one called symphonyos which looked very interesting with a new desktop layout and some really interesting features however when I tried to go on there site which is
I imagine this site has been taken offline so I tried to look elsewhere to see if I can get a download of this very interesting operating system, but did not find a site where I can download the os system.
Can anyone direct me to where I can download this operating system and does anyone know what happened to the site? Or has the OS changed its name?
Don't know anything about symphonyOS, but here is a link to a mirror that has symphonyOS .iso images. There from May 2006 which sounds like the latest release.
According to this article, the Mezzo desktop is also available as a .deb package for other Debian based distros. Another option if you're only interested in the desktop environment.
So, is Symphony dead now or what? I've heard they were having some sort of troubles, although I'm not sure of what type...and it seems their server has been down for a few weeks now. Anyone heard anything lately? Also, why don't they just use a free host like sourceforge or something if they cant' afford their own?
To tell you the truth though, I'm more concerned with the future of the Mezzo desktop than Symphony itself, is the source code even available anywhere in case someone else wants to continue the project (if, in fact, it is dead like it appears)?
