SuSE 9.1 Pro - bootloader


i installed it and had the bootsplash, then during installation i ran the updates, now when i boot i dont get the bootsplash anynore, just the black console with kernel boot messages, anybody know why?

problem solved, i think if you run the updates as part of the install when you reboot with the new kernel update there is no bootsplash. did another install and only updated once i logged into kde. am i right about this?

I also have the same problem, but I only did the update (via YOU) once I had logged into KDE.

This happens on two different machines, one running the 32-bit version and the other running the 64-bit one.

Yes it is, you get 2 double sided DVDs, one has the binary images on (32bit on one side and 64bit on the other) and the other DVD contains the source.

Also, I manged to fix my problem with the bootsplash, you need to update to the latest kernel and type

mkinitrd -s 1600x1200 (or whatever your resolution is)
