Persistent SATA issues with Fedora: "loading sata_sil....."
Hi all,
I'm currently running fedora core 2 at home. I have tried to upgrade to Fedoras 3,4, and now 5, but am having issues with my SATA drives which prevent me from doing so. I keep hoping it will be sorted out in the next release, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
With 3 and 4 I got "Loading sata_sil.... disabling irq #11" (or similar) at which point it hung, now I'm getting "Loading sata_sil" followed by a string of junk characters.
I'm running two SATA drives from a Silicon Image PCI card, and had no problems at all with Fedora 1 and 2.
Any ideas, aside from buying an IDE drive, or building a kernel?
Thanks a lot,
Jon
