Hello to everyone, new with Linux but want to learn. I am wondering if there is a distro that will run as a NAS Network Attached Storage. I have some old pcs that would be perfect but I need some type of OS that will convert the PC to a NAS. All help would be appreciated.
Well, if by NAS, you mean a file server that can be accessed from other machines, you can use NFS or SAMBA to export files off the servers to the network. Exactly how do you want to use them?
I havent the money at this time to buy a NAS Applaince so I want to make a PC into a network storage the same as a commercail unit. It would only be a storage server. Yhis is a commercial example here http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...6863&CatId=207
