I have Mandrake 9.1 and when i switch on the computer the boot often stop on a module loading.
Then, i have to do a hard reset to reboot. I have to do it 1, 2, or 3 times before the system start up properly.
The problem is, and i think it is a consequence, now i have many errors on the system.
Many files seams corrupt because the system write me "Input/Output error" when i try a bash command.
If i do a ls of /bin or /sbin, the system write me "Input/output error" for the corresponding files.
Now, i can't do a lot of commands like "reboot"
A locking file of webmin is corrupt so since i have stopped it, i can't restart it. I can't delete the locking file.
I will try an other install of the system but if it doesn't work i will change my distribution.
just for your information... my computer takes about 30 seconds on module loading while everything else takes -1 second... so maybe you didnt wait long enough and thought it stopped when it didnt?? just a guess, i might be wrong..
