How do I access locked files with Knoppix??? Quick question

hmm, it seems my fedora crashed on me right before I was going to install debian, not that it's a big deal or anything...but..

there are a few files I want from my home partition on fedora that will fit on a floppy. I am trying to use knoppix to get to them to put them on the floppy but it says, "permission denied" and it has a little lock on the folder icon.

How do I copy the files if I can't get to them?

Do su at an xterm to log in as root and copy your files at the command line.

Or do
su - -c konqueror
to get a root priveliged konqueror window.
