Hey all, installed Fedora core 1 [kicks ass so far] but I screwed up on my XConfig but I know what to change. The problem is I can't edit it, even from another distro. How can one edit files owned by root? Thanks.
Boot into safemode (type "linux init 3" if you are booting from floppy). CD to the folder where the Nivida script is and type "export CC=gcc32" then sh NVIDIA **********.run. After it has been installed type "startx". Once you are on your desktop open the XFree86 config file which is in etc/X11, changed the driver from "nv" to "nvidia" take out the line "dri" from modules and check that in modules you have "load glx" if not type it in a new line. Reboot and you will see the nvidia splash screen.
