I installed red hat 9 a few days ago...and usually when it boots up it has two options red hat or dos. Now it has a thrid option another linux. I know i didn't install it again, how do i get rid of it. Infact why is it on there?
If U installed a second kernel the option might appear (if you did a make install) in the lilo boot menu.
Is possible that you have edited the /etc/lilo.conf file directly or through a tool in X, and that ran the lilo command (no change is done until lilo is ran).
if you don't remember you probably are login as root or as a user with root rights (very easy to give one such rights in RH 9).
DO NOT LOG AS ROOT IN AN USUAL MANNER.
Use the root account only in special situations - configuration is needed or even better use su, make your configuration things and exit su.
