Distro aimed at disk imaging?

I was wondering if there are/were any linux distro's out there aimed at harddrive disk imaging.

I would like the distro to run from a cd too, not a floppy or usbdrive.

ssh, ncpmount, and smbfs support are a must. The ability to read PowerQuest PQI files would be a big plus. Write support isn't really needed.

Is there such a distro.

You are looking for a distro that has dd command, and ssh...

Distros such as knoppix, I think, has sshd and basic linux commands.

I ran into Tiny-Feather Linux which is a stripped down version of Feather Linux which is a stripped down version of Knoppix. Tiny-Feather boot plenty fast and has all the applications I'll use. I've just got one problem. Possibly two.

Problem: it saw my external HDD but said no active module handled it. I did a lsmod and usb-storage was loaded but didn't pick up my hdd. I didn't think to try my jumpdrive and see if it got picked up.

Possible problem: I don't know how to tell if ncp is included, short of testing it and i won't be able to do that until i get to work tomorrow.

***stripped down version of Feather Linux which is a stripped down version of Knoppix.***
these distros keep getting smaller and smaller

1. External HDD. You will need of course usbcore, the, possibly, EHCI, OHCI, UHCI, the external USB disk drivers to work...

2. The problem with stripped down versions of stripped down other versions is not always having what you want in those version.

I still think knoppix is worth a try.
