Devuan: Wifi does not work after distribution upgrade to Daedalus.

Could it please be caused by Microcode SW error ?

Code:
/var/log/syslog

Your Intel Wireless card/chip may need the firmware installed, if it isn't already.

The latest one I have is from Feburary 2023...
iwlwifi > firmware-iwlwifi

On a Devuan 5 (daedalus) system,
the "non-free-firmware" needs to be un-commented or added to one of the lines in /etc/apt/sources.list

for example...
Code:
deb http://deb.devuan.org/merged/ daedalus main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
a change was made up-stream about the "non-free-firmware" package repository, and where it is placed in the sources list.

Devuan 4 (chimaera) the non-free firmware was imbedded with the other packages, now non-free is separate.
I think it is so people don't install non-free software by mistake, foss.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. These repositories are already present in /etc/apt/sources.list and were used during distribution upgrade to Daedalus.

I've downloaded http://deb.devuan.org/merged/pool/DE...0210-5_all.deb and tried offline install but output of apt command was that this package was already installed.

Sorry I jumped too fast to try a solution.

I see in the syslog the line near the top and after the SW error... The firmware is loaded.
Code:
2023-09-12T17:17:38.456379+02:00 maketopsite kernel: [ 227.203049] iwlwifi 0000:05:00.0: Loaded firmware version: 18.168.6.1 135-6.ucode
That was all I had... I have the same version...

It works after few reboots, I don't know what causes that.
