Authentication Issue on Gentoo Linux

Hi

When I run some programs from console as root: I receive always the following message:

GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

I've been looking for a solution fix the problem but I haven't found. What's the cause of this? Besides, I have some programs that does not work correctly I thought maybe it's 'cause of this

Any suggestions please?

i have that same thing whenever i run firestarter on anything so its not a gentoo problem. And as far as i know it never caused me any problems.
