Xsane doesn't completely scan

I use an HP Deskjet 3050A All-in-One printer/copier/scanner. Xsane is not scanning the entire width of the bed (9"). It is only scanning 8", and I need it to scan at least 8.5" wide. I think there should be a setting in Xsane where I can set it properly, but so far I have not found it. I have done a adjustment or two, but to no avail. Can someone in this forum, familiar with Xsane, help me with this please?

Much thanks in advance for your help.

a few things first

What operating system is this ?
and what version?

What version of Xsane are you using ?

have you tried using a different computer ?
have you tried using a windows 7 computer ?

have you tried reinstalling the software ?

and are you SURE it is not the scanner that is broken ?

Debian Wheezy (v.7)

Xsane 0.998

I haven't tried using a different computer (don't have one).

Haven't tried using a Windows 7, but I will, as I dual-boot. I will post later and let you know how it went.

I reinstalled the software recently.

I found the setting that I wanted to change in "Advanced Options". Thanks for your attention and help, John. Have a good day.
