Volume Control dialogue opens on wrong monitor

Hi all,

I'm running a dual-monitor setup on a GeForce GTX 750 Ti, with the Nvidia proprietary driver installed on Slackware current. Primary monitor is set to the HDMI, secondary on the on the DE-15.

KDE Panels on both displays. Removing the Panel on the secondary did not fix.

Whenever I click on the Volume Control (KMix) in the primary monitor, the mixer applet opens on the secondary monitor. I assumed this was a KScreen2 issue, so I disabled the service, but the problem persists.

This tiny annoyance is driving me up the wall . Any suggestions would be appreciated.

All the best.

Star.

Often it has to do with focus. If you left click where you want focus, it helps. But I want xpdf on the right screen. So I click right, hit Alt-F2, & type xpdf and it comes up. Then the file/Open shows on the left screen.

SOLVED

This turned out to be easy enough to solve in the end - I just re-enabled Kscreen2, disabled the secondary screen in the KDE Display Settings, opened the mixer to ensure it was now displaying on the main display, and then re-enabled the secondary. The change stuck.
