Question Ubuntu 20.04 Chromium locked profile

I use chromium on Ubuntu in kiosk mode.

When you change the hostname of the player, the profile on Chromium is locked (no surprise here).

What is a surprise is that no Singleton files exist (which normally, deleting of fixes the issue).

I have searched the whole drive as root and have been unable to find any Singleton files at all. I am kind of stumped.

Any ideas?

What is "the player"? What is "Singleton"? I think your post assumes that we know exactly how a Ubuntu kiosk works. Is that something prefabricated you just installed?

This is a chrom* issue with a system hostname change (https://askubuntu.com/questions/4769...nging-hostname)

This seemed to work in previous versions of Ubuntu but, for some reason, I have not been able to find a SingletonLock file since moving to 20.04.

My Google-Fu finally worked. Here is the solution.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...r/+bug/1887396

TLDR: rm -f /home/${USER}/snap/chromium/common/chromium/Singleton*
