Question Trying to remove evolution completely from Linux Mint 17.3

I am having trouble trying to do a removal of evolution from Linux Mint 17.3. I have tried sudo apt-get purge evolution and sudo apt-get remove evolution. Neither remove user information when you reinstall evolution. I am trying to do a clean install of evolution. I thought remove or purge would do the trick but no luck. Help?

User information is stored in home directory. Never heard of install/uninstall that delves into home directories.
