print to searchable pdf


i am using ubuntu 11.10 and installed cups-pdf. if i print from firefox to pdf, the created pdf is not searchable.

i want to copy txt from pdf.

pls advise

Could you post an example pdf that you have created for us? Also, what PDF reader are you using?

i am using acrobat reader 9. i uses pdftotext and the output is garbled. i will post the sample pdf later as i am out of office.

the webpage contains unicode. do i need to install additional ghostsript fonts? if yes, how to?

Can you use openoffice to save the pdf?
