Question missing the applications window menus in Kubuntu 17.10, ( file, edit, view, etc )

My new install on a USB flash drive is missing the applications window menus in Kubuntu 17.10, ( file, edit, view, etc ), so when I open Firefox or text editor or any application there is no menu bar on the top of the open window. So I did check in the settings for this feature but I can not find how to make it show.?
