Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hello, I'm really new in the world of linux. I just got a new old computer and decided to install linux instead of windows. I got the mandriva 2007 free mini cd. I format the computer and install the os. Everything went really smooth and fast. After installing. I reboot the computer where i have to type my login and password in kernel. after entering my login and password i got this error.
'locale: cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: no such file or directory
locale: cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: no such file or directory
locale: cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: no such file or directory
So now i have no idea what to do. I typed locale and all the LC's have the same "en_US.UTF-8" language on except for the LC_ALL that is empty.
Any help would be great.
PS: My comp is a dell, pentium 4 1.8 ghz, 516 ram, mandriva detected an ATI Radeon as a video card, I dont know really if that is the actual card, but it works fine.
