What Linus said in that video is that many software houses find it too difficult to package software for the Linux desktop because of the diverse range of distributions.

From that, it seems that the OP attempted to make the point that Linux can't succeed on the desktop because of these perceived barriers. His attempt did not succeed, but he seemingly remains unconvinced.

It also has localisations for various taxes relating to sales, wholesale, goods & services, value added, etc... and also payroll, tax withholdings, pensions, superannuation, etc.
